I walk in everyday and smell its sweet scent of sawdust and make up, I breathe in and feel the heat of the lamps on my face.
I live the theatre
Everyday I take this empty space and mold it into a creation of life and death, a celebration of humanity and its virtues and vices.
I speak the theatre
Its verse flows past my lips and people are board, lives are lived, cities, countries, worlds are created as I put life into them with my very own voice.
I taste the theatre
Its sweat and tears, its love and hate caress my taste buds. The taste of bitter agony and its sweet, sweet taste of success.
I bleed the theatre
Its essence runs through my veins. I am its life force, its beating heart that break when it is denied and soars when it grows strong.
I worship the theatre
Its gods are comedy and tragedy, its priests the performers of the stage, its prophets the directors and crew, its Word the written prose.
My love is the theatre. My life is the theatre. My death is the theatre.
I am the theatre.
Well, I really just felt like submitting something. The poem is what I originally wanted to submit. And I also loved the photo which I took during tech week for Cabaret as well so I wanted to submit it too. I did alter the photo a touch which is why its in photomanipulations. And its in the emotions category because to me, it portrays a lot of emotion. This is more for myself than anyone else. It is to me a depiction of how the theatre used to feel to be captured in a snapshot of time. And it is the feeling that I wish one day to find again.
Why thank you for the comment and the fav too! As for the lamps, I can't remember. It may be a leko source 4....I'm not sure. Unfortunately I'm just an actor who plays techie so I don't remember exactly >.<. But I can tell you that these two as well as third one that isn't in the shot were programed in a sequence so that it looked like lights outside a train window that were running by. It was a pretty neat effect. A bitch to program, but in the end the Master Elec figured it out. The lighting design for the show was AWESOME. I loved it. I have some shots from a dress rehearsal that have some good images of the lighting design, I may post those too. So stick around if you're interested.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
